I’m a 28 year old mom-to-be, living in Northern Virginia with my husband and my little puppy, Lola (who I happen to think is the cutest little Chihuahua ever!).
We are expecting our first baby (a girl!) at the end of October and couldn’t be more excited. We are so ready to meet her! We don’t have a name picked out yet, but we hope to decide soon. I never thought I would be one to say that I want to meet my baby before I name her, but now I think I just might! We’ll see...
I have loved home decor ever since I can remember. When I was a little girl, my mom was always repainting something, hanging wallpaper or rearranging furniture around house. I always wanted to be a part of the fun and my ever-so-gracious mother usually let me! (This could also explain why at one time, we had a pink kitchen). Needless to say, we never really had a lot of money to make all of these projects happen, so we’d find our own creative ways to make it work. I also used to spend hours at my grandmother’s house watching craft shows on TV and going on marathon shopping trips with her to find bargains for the holidays. Even as a 7 year old, I thought this was the greatest! I guess maybe I was a little weird!
As I’ve gotten older, not much has changed. I still absolutely love decorating, crafting and shopping. Having my own home to experiment with has been a big learning experience and a lot of fun! All of those years helping my mom and grandmother paint, craft and do crazy things to their homes really paid off (although, my sweet husband may not agree!). He’s been so tolerant with all the changes I’ve made to our home. He usually comes home from business trips to find new throw pillows around the house, pieces of furniture repainted and me in the middle of a project that I “promise” is going to be so great! The poor guy. I can also guarantee that he’s spent more time at Home Goods and Bed Bath & Beyond than any grown man would care to admit, but this is why I love him!
I’m looking forward to filling this blog with home projects I’ll be taking on as a way to record them for my own reference and hopefully in the process, I can help or inspire you too! We’ve done a lot to our townhome since purchasing it in 2008. You can see the progress we’ve made so far in the Before & After section at the top of the page. I’ll also be sharing with you other interests I have like shopping, fashion and a few baby related things once I get there! I’ll be posting several times a week, so check back often to see what’s new! Tomorrow, I’m looking forward to sharing a furniture makeover with you, so I hope to see you around for your comments and feedback!
