Meet Audrey Pearl

Hi everyone! I just wanted to post a quick baby update! Our sweet Audrey Pearl was born on October 25th at 8:41pm. She was 6lbs. 12oz and 19 1/4 inches long. We could not be more in love with her! I'll share her birth story and more details in a later post. Today is our first full day at home so I hope to be back to posting soon, but we're still adjusting of course.

I'll leave you with some pictures!

New kitchen barstools

After years of procrastination, we finally ordered some barstools for the kitchen!

We went with Pottery Barn's Napa Backless Barstools.

The slipcovers are sold separately, but I didn't order any. They didn't have any white in stock, which is what I wanted, so I plan on making my own. I probably won't have time before baby is born, though!

I can't wait until they get here. I think they'll look great in the kitchen and I'm sure everyone coming to visit the baby will appreciate the extra seating!

Pottery Barn is having a 15% off sale on select barstools until the 26th, so check them out if you're in the market for some too!

I'll update you with pictures of how they look in the kitchen once they arrive!

In other news, I'm off to the doctor's this morning to see if our little princess is ready to be born yet. I'll post an update this afternoon if there's any exciting news to share! Wish us luck!

I'm sure most of you probably know that the 20% off sale started on Thursday. I wanted to test out some new products since I'm pretty much stocked up on all of my regular things.

Here's what I got:

I can't wait for all of it to get here! Especially the eye products. I'm pretty sure they're going to be essential with the sleep deprivation that comes with having a newborn! I'll be sure to give a review on how all the products are working once I've had a chance to use them for a while.

If you don't have the discount code for the sale, you can go here to get it!

Are you shopping the sale? Let me know what you're getting in the comments!

Most loved pregnancy items

Since I'm getting close to the end of my pregnancy, I thought I'd share with you a few things that I've enjoyed using and that have help me through! In case you're wondering, I'm 39 weeks, 4 she could be born any day now (although at this point it looks like I'll be making it past my due date!)

One of the first things I started using as soon as I found out that I was pregnant was stretch mark prevention cream. I was really paranoid about getting these, and thankfully I haven't! Of course, I think whether or not you get stretch marks has a lot to do with genetics and not just using a lot of cream, but here are the ones I like:

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula

I use this lotion in the morning after I shower. It absorbs pretty well and smells nice too. It's very inexpensive and available pretty much everywhere. Don't confuse this with their other lotion which is for stretch mark correction!

Belli Pregnancy Elasticity Belly Oil

I love this stuff! It has a pretty, but light lavender scent and absorbs so nicely into your skin. I use this at night, right before I go to bed. You can buy it here. It's definitely pricier than the cocoa butter, but one bottle will last you quite a while.

Citra Natal DHA

My doctor gave me a bunch of prenatal vitamins to sample in the beginning. I had a hard time finding some that didn't make me nauseous, but I ended up choosing these after some trial and error. The only thing I don't like about them is the fact that you have to take 2 pills for one dose. The plus side to that is, they are slightly smaller than some other prenatals that are just 1 pill per dose.

Vitafusion Prenatal DHA and Folic Acid

I also took these gummy prenatals on days when I needed a break from the big pills! Of course, you'll want to check with your doctor on which vitamins will be best for you, but these are the two that I have liked. You can buy these here.

Just recently (thanks to my friend Andrea), I started drinking these teas:

Traditional Medicinals Organic Pregnancy Tea

Traditional Medicinals Organic Raspberry Leaf Tea

Both of these teas help prepare your body for labor and delivery, plus they taste really good! I like the pregnancy tea a little more than the raspberry leaf tea. It's a little more herbal, whereas the raspberry tea is more similar to black tea. But, they are both really good! I get these at Wegmans, but you can also get them online here. Check with your doctor before drinking these (or any herbal teas for that matter). My doctor recommended not starting these until 37 weeks.

Tea Forte Cafe Cup

I found this cup at Wegmans right next to the tea. I suppose it's really made for the Tea Forte brand tea bags, but it works just fine for any tea. The cover keeps your tea hot while it steeps right in the cup. I love this thing! It's very convenient when you're drinking at least 4 cups a day, like I am! If you can't find it at your grocery store, it's available here.

I had the worst time finding cute maternity clothes, but I pretty much lived in these all summer:

Secret Fit Belly Maternity Crop Leggings

They have a full panel, but I usually wear them folded down like yoga pants since I find that to be more comfortable. I got them at Destination Maternity. They also have other colors and lengths. I just found these really easy to throw on with a longer top or tunic for a casual look.

A Pea in the Pod Sleeveless Scoopneck Tank

I also wore these tanks a lot when it was hotter outside. I've since grown out of them, but they were a good staple for me this summer! The fit is really nice (much better than the similar tanks that Motherhood Maternity sells).

A Pea in the Pod 3/4 Sleeve Side Ruched Shirt

I have a few of these tops and I love them! They're pretty much the only tops I have at this point that are long enough to cover my belly and the elastic top of my pants! They are so soft and comfortable and really flattering. I would definitely be buying a lot more if I wasn't so close to my due date! Right now they're on sale for $10 definitely check them out if you need some tops for fall!

The Baby Book by Dr. Sears

I found this book to be really helpful and encouraging. It's well organized and has a lot of useful information in it that I didn't find in other books. It goes through everything from birth to the first two years of baby's life, so I'm sure it will continue to be a great resource for me even after our little princess is born! In fact, I already have tabs marked for topics I feel like I might have questions about in the first few weeks that we're home with the baby.

Boppy Prenatal Sleep Wedge

I started using this pillow around 34 weeks, when I got really uncomfortable. I like it because it's not huge like some other pregnancy pillows. It provides just enough support for my belly without overtaking the entire bed. It's more like a dense foam than a soft pillow, if you can't tell from the picture.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles

Although this isn't a pregnancy-specific item, I have loved using it lately! I first heard about it from reading Veronika's review. It's been really fantastic for hiding circles and puffiness under my eyes which seem to be more prominent the later I get in my pregnancy. This product is definitely going in my hospital bag! You can read my original post on this product here.

Well, that's about all I can think of for now! I'm looking forward to sharing post-pregnancy and baby items with you too! Let me know if you have any pregnancy-related product raves to share in the comments!

My husband is amazing!

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to take a minute to tell you how great my husband is. This past Monday night, I came downstairs to find this on the sofa:

He told me it was my "push present", but he wanted me to open it now, before the baby is born! How sweet is that?

Inside, was the softest, prettiest, most luxurious robe!

He said he wanted me to have it now in case I wanted to wear it in the hospital. It's so nice though, I think I'll leave it at home and just enjoy it there! It will be perfect for cuddling with baby. I think she'll love it too!

It has beautiful silk trim. I feel so spoiled!

While I was enjoying wearing and admiring my new robe, my sneaky husband pulled out another box!

Can you say OMG with me?!

He picked it out by himself! He was so sweet telling me how he went to so many different stores and finally came to a decision. I'm sure it wasn't easy, but he has great taste, and I love this bag!

This bag is extra special since the gold plate has the address of their flagship store in Paris...we had fun window shopping there last year when we went for our first anniversary.

I really wasn't expecting all these gifts, so I just wanted to share my excitement with you...and of course say thank you to my amazing and wonderful husband for spoiling me so much!

Pretty soon he's going to have 2 girls to spoil!

Glitter pumpkins!

I finally got around to glittering some mini pumpkins. I'll show you how I did it, even though it's so easy, I'm sure you could figure it out without my help!

I'm kind of obsessed with these now, and I want to make a bunch more! I might have to since I have all this glitter left:

Here's what the rest of my pumpkins look like:

Here are the colors I used:

Garnet, Cinnabar, Kunzite, Brownstone, Fire Opal and Smokey Quartz.

I definitely want to do another set of these in blues and greens. I think that would be super cute and different!

I got the glitter collection here, but you can also buy it at Michael's. I used Martha Stewart's glittering glue but any craft glue would probably work just as well.

Have you glittered any pumpkins this year? If not, you should! You'll love them!
