One of the first things I started using as soon as I found out that I was pregnant was stretch mark prevention cream. I was really paranoid about getting these, and thankfully I haven't! Of course, I think whether or not you get stretch marks has a lot to do with genetics and not just using a lot of cream, but here are the ones I like:
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula
I use this lotion in the morning after I shower. It absorbs pretty well and smells nice too. It's very inexpensive and available pretty much everywhere. Don't confuse this with their other lotion which is for stretch mark correction!
Belli Pregnancy Elasticity Belly Oil
I love this stuff! It has a pretty, but light lavender scent and absorbs so nicely into your skin. I use this at night, right before I go to bed. You can buy it here. It's definitely pricier than the cocoa butter, but one bottle will last you quite a while.
Citra Natal DHA
My doctor gave me a bunch of prenatal vitamins to sample in the beginning. I had a hard time finding some that didn't make me nauseous, but I ended up choosing these after some trial and error. The only thing I don't like about them is the fact that you have to take 2 pills for one dose. The plus side to that is, they are slightly smaller than some other prenatals that are just 1 pill per dose.
Vitafusion Prenatal DHA and Folic Acid
I also took these gummy prenatals on days when I needed a break from the big pills! Of course, you'll want to check with your doctor on which vitamins will be best for you, but these are the two that I have liked. You can buy these here.
Just recently (thanks to my friend Andrea), I started drinking these teas:
Traditional Medicinals Organic Pregnancy Tea
Traditional Medicinals Organic Raspberry Leaf Tea
Both of these teas help prepare your body for labor and delivery, plus they taste really good! I like the pregnancy tea a little more than the raspberry leaf tea. It's a little more herbal, whereas the raspberry tea is more similar to black tea. But, they are both really good! I get these at Wegmans, but you can also get them online here. Check with your doctor before drinking these (or any herbal teas for that matter). My doctor recommended not starting these until 37 weeks.
Tea Forte Cafe Cup
I found this cup at Wegmans right next to the tea. I suppose it's really made for the Tea Forte brand tea bags, but it works just fine for any tea. The cover keeps your tea hot while it steeps right in the cup. I love this thing! It's very convenient when you're drinking at least 4 cups a day, like I am! If you can't find it at your grocery store, it's available here.
I had the worst time finding cute maternity clothes, but I pretty much lived in these all summer:
Secret Fit Belly Maternity Crop Leggings
They have a full panel, but I usually wear them folded down like yoga pants since I find that to be more comfortable. I got them at Destination Maternity. They also have other colors and lengths. I just found these really easy to throw on with a longer top or tunic for a casual look.
A Pea in the Pod Sleeveless Scoopneck Tank
I also wore these tanks a lot when it was hotter outside. I've since grown out of them, but they were a good staple for me this summer! The fit is really nice (much better than the similar tanks that Motherhood Maternity sells).
A Pea in the Pod 3/4 Sleeve Side Ruched Shirt
I have a few of these tops and I love them! They're pretty much the only tops I have at this point that are long enough to cover my belly and the elastic top of my pants! They are so soft and comfortable and really flattering. I would definitely be buying a lot more if I wasn't so close to my due date! Right now they're on sale for $10 off...so definitely check them out if you need some tops for fall!
The Baby Book by Dr. Sears
I found this book to be really helpful and encouraging. It's well organized and has a lot of useful information in it that I didn't find in other books. It goes through everything from birth to the first two years of baby's life, so I'm sure it will continue to be a great resource for me even after our little princess is born! In fact, I already have tabs marked for topics I feel like I might have questions about in the first few weeks that we're home with the baby.
Boppy Prenatal Sleep Wedge
I started using this pillow around 34 weeks, when I got really uncomfortable. I like it because it's not huge like some other pregnancy pillows. It provides just enough support for my belly without overtaking the entire bed. It's more like a dense foam than a soft pillow, if you can't tell from the picture.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles
Although this isn't a pregnancy-specific item, I have loved using it lately! I first heard about it from reading Veronika's review. It's been really fantastic for hiding circles and puffiness under my eyes which seem to be more prominent the later I get in my pregnancy. This product is definitely going in my hospital bag! You can read my original post on this product here.
Well, that's about all I can think of for now! I'm looking forward to sharing post-pregnancy and baby items with you too! Let me know if you have any pregnancy-related product raves to share in the comments!
