Most loved items for mom - the early weeks

I thought it might be helpful to some of you to go over my favorite and most used items since we've been at home with Audrey. I definitely wish I had some of these things before she was born! These are things I've been using for myself; later this week, I'll be sharing things we've loved using for Audrey.

Nursing nightgowns

Like I said in an earlier post, I only had nursing sets that were pants and tops. The tops were fine, but I couldn't wear the pants right away because of my incision from the c-section, so Josh went out and bought me a bunch of nursing nightgowns the first day we came home. He's so sweet! He got all of mine from A Pea in the Pod and they're all very soft and comfy! Whether you buy pant sets or nightgowns, these will be your best friend in the first few weeks at home. It makes it so easy to nurse your baby...and you won't look too shabby doing it either!

I got the ones I linked to above at A Pea in the Pod. They've been great. I know a lot of girls rave about Bravado nursing bras, but I actually like the way these fit me much better. This bra has removable pads inside the cups and it's very soft and comfortable. A Pea in the Pod is having a promotion on these right 3 get 1 free!

I didn't even know these existed until a lactation nurse at the hospital gave them to me. I won't go into tons of detail, but I think you can figure out why they'd be useful!

I had other creams at home, but didn't bring any with me to the hospital, so the nurses gave me this Lansinoh brand cream. I ended up buying more of it when I got home. I love this specific brand because you don't have to wipe it off before nursing...anything to make your life easier in the first few weeks!

I've tried a few other brands of nursing pads, but the Lansinoh ones are my favorite. They're very soft. I highly recommend these!

This item might seem really silly, but I have a cup very similar to this one (thanks to my awesome sister-in-law who ran out and bought me one when she visited!) and it doesn't leave my side all day! I've always been a big water drinker, but I think I've been drinking even more since I've been home from the hospital. Foolishly, I didn't take the huge mug with a straw they give you at the hospital, but this one has been a pretty good substitute.

I bought this eye gel when Sephora was having their friends and family sale,  just before Audrey was born. I've been using it nightly since I got it and I think it really has helped reduce lines around my eyes as well as puffiness and just their overall tired looking appearance!

I hope this list is helpful for anyone who might be having a baby soon! I know for me, it would have been nice to already have some of these things on hand before Audrey was born, so maybe this post will save someone a little bit of hassle!
