Hi all, and happy weekend! I want to tell you about these awesome pants I just bought, but before I get into that, a little update for you...
Remember how I mentioned that I had maxed out all the space on my computer? Well, apparently it's so bad that I can't even turn it on anymore until I remove all of the data and restore the computer. Fun. I guess that's what happens when you take hundreds of pictures of your baby each week. But I can't help it! She's so precious!
Besides the fact that this little situation is massively inconvenient, it also means that blogging will be very slow until everything is fixed. Right now I'm blogging from Josh's computer, and that's not something I'll be able to do very often, and even when I can, it will be difficult since I don't have access to all of my photos. So, I will do my best to post when I can in the midst of this! Thanks in advance for your patience and for sticking around!
Now, let's talk about these pants. They're JCrew's ankle stretch toothpick jean in garment dyed twill, and I love them. I am not one to be very bold with color, especially colored denim, but I thought I'd give these a chance, so I grabbed a few pairs to try on. I was incredibly happy with the fit right away! I had been having such a hard time finding a comfortable jean that is easy and comfortable to wear, and that fits me! I do fit into most of my pre-pregnancy jeans, but not all of them. And honestly, now that I'm staying at home and it's the middle of summer, I've really been wanting a cropped jean.
I questioned myself when I fell in love with yellow jeans...who am I?! But, the more I thought about it, they really are neutral. I've paired them here with charcoal gray, but there are so many colors they'd look awesome with. Think about navy blue, peacock, rust, mint, coral, deep green, wine, eggplant, or even chambray (like Audrey is wearing!). I'm actually really excited to wear these in the fall. I think they'll look great tucked into brown boots and paired with some of the deeper colors I mentioned above. I think they really are seasonless in this color, which is one of the reasons why I was ok paying full price for them.
If you're thinking of buying a pair for yourself, I would consider sizing down. I bought a 24 and honestly, I didn't even wear 24's before I had Audrey (I was typically a 25), so I'm thinking the cut on these is a little more generous that some other denim brands I'm used to wearing like Seven and True Religion. Also, like most jeans with stretch, they do loosen up as you wear them throughout the day, so keep that in mind.
Even though they do loosen up as you wear them, they hold up to me constantly crawling around the floor with Audrey without looking too shabby at the end of the day. You know when you get saggy jeans? That didn't happen for me with these, which is a huge plus!
They even look cute cuffed up a little bit. And they are so, so soft. I bought them in Golden Sunflower (although I've been refering to them as mustard). They also come in several other colors, even a dark wash denim here, although I haven't tried those on yet. My local store didn't have them, so I can't say for sure if the fit would be the same, but I'd definitely love to try them on to see!
If you want to purchase these, click here. I've also seen similar colored jeans at other stores for less, like Express and Macy's. What do you guys think of colored denim? Do you have any now, or is it something you'd try?!
I hope you all enjoy the weekend! We're supposed to be getting lots of thunderstorms, so we'll probably be indoors most of the time!
