Our Christmas decorations

It seems like it took forever to get our Christmas decorations up this year! I'm so glad they're finally done! I wanted to add even a few more things, but I don't think I will. I'm happy with how it looks and I really don't need more decorations to put away! I will have to update this post a little later when I'm able to take pictures of the decorations in the foyer. At the moment, it's just a total mess with storage bins!

For the first time since we've lived here, we have a real tree! We debated a lot on whether or not it would be too much effort and too messy, but we really wanted to start the tradition of picking out a real tree with Audrey each year, so we went for it! We also put the tree in a different spot than we have in years past. I love it where it is, but as you might notice in these pictures, we had to swap the dining room and kitchen tables...just to accommodate for the tree! When I told Josh we should move the tables just for Christmas, he looked at me like I was crazy....but then he helped move them:)

After Christmas, once the tables are moved back, I will have to take new pictures of the whole house. The "Tour my nest" tab needs to be updated badly and it's been on my mind for a while.

For now, you can see what Christmas looks like at our house this year!

I hope you enjoyed my little Christmas house tour! Don't be fooled though...my house never looks this tidy in real life! Just throwing that out there, because I often get discouraged when I see other blogger's homes looking so perfectly tidy. Most of Audrey's toys are contained in the basket next to the loveseat, but there are some larger ones that are always on the living room floor, which I just moved out of the pictures for your sake. Normally, the living room looks like toyland exploded...and I'm actually ok with that:)

I'll be back soon with some fun and easy tutorials on how to make my birds nest tree topper, some ornaments, and the glitter letters hanging from our stockings!

Hope you're all having a great start to your week!

I'm linking up to The DIY Showoff's Christmas Tree Party and Contest!

  1. LOVE everything. The glitter monogram ornaments to distinguish the stockings are brilliant. Love your realness in saying your house isn't always set up perfectly, aaahh thank god ;)
