Blue desk "styled"

Since I can't do any posts including pictures that I have taken previously, I thought I'd finally share with you what the blue desk looks like now that it has been filled for a while. I took these pictures this afternoon, and this is pretty much what it looks like everyday.

To be honest, I'm not 100% thrilled with the way it's styled, but it needs to be more functional than stylish at this point, so I'm ok with it!

If you missed the original makeover on this desk, click here.

Some baby memory books, a pretty storage jar for change, some framed pictures, and a messy stack of books and magazines (that I never have time to look at!).

The basket holds mail and other papers, the tiny makeshift tray is for Josh's stuff that comes out of his pocket at the end of the day. I actually need to replace this with something a little larger and cuter!

I also recently made another little update around the corner from this desk.

I don't know if I've shared this little area of the house on the blog before, but previously I just had a black and white print of a flower hanging here. It was ok, but really just something to fill the space. It was nothing I loved or had any attachment to.

Now hanging here, is a picture of my dad driving a racehorse back in 1970. I found it in my sister's room the last time I was at my mom's house, and made a copy for myself. I love it in this space and it's so much more meaningful and interesting to look at than the other picture I had hanging up here before. I wish I had more racing pictures of my dad, though. Most of them were destroyed in a basement flood when I was a little girl, so this one is a rare treasure to me.

I hope you liked these little updates!

I'm working on getting things together for my very first blog sale! Thanks to all of you who expressed interest in that! I will have it up and running as soon as I can!

Adorable Audrey

Yay! So glad I'm finally getting these together for you! Once again, we had Stacey from Labor of Love Photography take our pictures, just like we did for our maternity shoot and Audrey's newborn shoot. I hope this cuteness is a good start to your weekend!

I hope you all have a great weekend! What are your plans? I'm hoping that I get a start on painting the china cabinet that I bought over a month ago!

Blog sale and update

Hey friends...my computer is mostly working fine again! Unfortunately all of the photos that used to be in my iPhoto albums are in limbo, so I'm still kind of stuck at the moment. I am able to take new photos and upload them, so that is a good thing, but I really need access to my older photos! Hopefully we figure this out soon! Let me know if you're a Mac expert and have some advice!

Now, a question for you all. My closet is way too full...mostly of things that I will never wear again. Not because I don't love them, but because I've realized that being stay at home mom, my wardrobe needs are different now. I've been buying a few things here and there that are more appropriate for crawling around the floor with Audrey all day, but I still have all of my other clothes taking up tons of space in my closet!

I'm in a serious de-cluttering mode! So, would you guys be interested in a blog sale? It would mostly be tops, maybe some dresses, pants and shoes (priced to leave my closet!).

Let me know what you think!

Happy Friday!!!

Audrey/family pictures preview!

Hi everyone! Thanks for hanging in while I get my computer fixed and my pictures in order! I'm still working from Josh's computer right now, but mine is on the mend as we speak, so it shouldn't be long before we're back to normal here!

In the meantime, I wanted to leave you with a little preview of our photoshoot from last month. I'm dying to share more of these with you very soon!

I hope you're all having a great week so far! See you soon!

JCrew ankle stretch toothpick jean

Hi all, and happy weekend! I want to tell you about these awesome pants I just bought, but before I get into that, a little update for you...

Remember how I mentioned that I had maxed out all the space on my computer? Well, apparently it's so bad that I can't even turn it on anymore until I remove all of the data and restore the computer. Fun. I guess that's what happens when you take hundreds of pictures of your baby each week. But I can't help it! She's so precious!

Besides the fact that this little situation is massively inconvenient, it also means that blogging will be very slow until everything is fixed. Right now I'm blogging from Josh's computer, and that's not something I'll be able to do very often, and even when I can, it will be difficult since I don't have access to all of my photos. So, I will do my best to post when I can in the midst of this! Thanks in advance for your patience and for sticking around!

Now, let's talk about these pants. They're JCrew's ankle stretch toothpick jean in garment dyed twill, and I love them. I am not one to be very bold with color, especially colored denim, but I thought I'd give these a chance, so I grabbed a few pairs to try on. I was incredibly happy with the fit right away! I had been having such a hard time finding a comfortable jean that is easy and comfortable to wear, and that fits me! I do fit into most of my pre-pregnancy jeans, but not all of them. And honestly, now that I'm staying at home and it's the middle of summer, I've really been wanting a cropped jean.

I questioned myself when I fell in love with yellow jeans...who am I?! But, the more I thought about it, they really are neutral. I've paired them here with charcoal gray, but there are so many colors they'd look awesome with. Think about navy blue, peacock, rust, mint, coral, deep green, wine, eggplant, or even chambray (like Audrey is wearing!). I'm actually really excited to wear these in the fall. I think they'll look great tucked into brown boots and paired with some of the deeper colors I mentioned above. I think they really are seasonless in this color, which is one of the reasons why I was ok paying full price for them.

If you're thinking of buying a pair for yourself, I would consider sizing down. I bought a 24 and honestly, I didn't even wear 24's before I had Audrey (I was typically a 25), so I'm thinking the cut on these is a little more generous that some other denim brands I'm used to wearing like Seven and True Religion. Also, like most jeans with stretch, they do loosen up as you wear them throughout the day, so keep that in mind.

Even though they do loosen up as you wear them, they hold up to me constantly crawling around the floor with Audrey without looking too shabby at the end of the day. You know when you get saggy jeans? That didn't happen for me with these, which is a huge plus!

They even look cute cuffed up a little bit. And they are so, so soft. I bought them in Golden Sunflower (although I've been refering to them as mustard). They also come in several other colors, even a dark wash denim here, although I haven't tried those on yet. My local store didn't have them, so I can't say for sure if the fit would be the same, but I'd definitely love to try them on to see!

If you want to purchase these, click here. I've also seen similar colored jeans at other stores for less, like Express and Macy's. What do you guys think of colored denim? Do you have any now, or is it something you'd try?!

I hope you all enjoy the weekend! We're supposed to be getting lots of thunderstorms, so we'll probably be indoors most of the time!

Birchbox-July

I have to say, this is another kind of boring box for me. June's Birchbox didn't really impress me either, so I don't even have my usual comments or reviews to give on those products! I will say that the Cynthia Rowley bandaids from last month are cute, and I got my wish...I burnt myself so severely with hot glue that I actually got to use 2 of them. It was so awful, but at least the bandaids were adorable!

Here's what I have in my July box:

(Sorry about the poor photo quality! Not sure happened there.)

I can't say I'm even remotely excited about anything in here. I've already tried the Suki products and I can barely stand the smell....those are a definite no-go for me!

What about you guys? What was in your box this month? Anything you loved from last month?

If you're new to Birchbox and would like to sign up, feel free to use my link!

Cute new iPhone case!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to pop in real quick to show you a super cute iPhone case I just bought. I had been using my personalized iPhone case, but when I spotted this one, I had to have it!

I can't remember exactly how, but I came across it on Instagram when I saw a shop called Yes. I fashion. When I saw a photo of the case, I thought for sure the price would be outrageous for something so pretty and original, but it was only $28! I thought that was very reasonable, so it didn't take me long to click "add to cart"!

It shipped really quickly too...within a few days of ordering. I was really impressed with that! If you'd like your own, click here. They also have a few other adorable cases and other accessories!

What's your current iPhone case?
