Looking for our "forever home"

Hi friends! We are having a very busy week here...how about you guys? I wanted to stop by and share a little something with you....it's not a project or a tutorial...it's a little more personal. I tend to not write very "personal" posts here. I guess that's just me. I'm kind of a private gal. But, this is something I'm really excited about, so I figured why not share it?

For the past couple of months, we've been looking for our "forever home". I say that in quotations because it's our intention that this will be where we live for a very, very long time, but of course we don't know everything that God has planned. We are so excited to be able to move to a larger, single-family home. God has really blessed us. I love our current home, it's the first place we lived together, it's Lola's first home, it's where we welcomed Audrey home. It's funny though, now that we've been searching for our next home, I'm anxious to move! I know I will miss this home, but I just feel ready to move on.

So far, we have seen at least a dozen homes at this point, but haven't found "the one". I know we will...eventually. It's funny though. Josh and I have completely different ideas of what our dream home is. He would like something brand new, with all the bells and whistles, while I would rather a big, old farmhouse built around 1900, that needs just a little work so that I can make it our own (asking a lot?!). That being said, I know we will find something we both love. We have seen a couple homes that came close, but not quite...so I know our home is out there somewhere!

Do you want to know what my dream home looks like? I'll show you....

It looks something like this from the outside

My dream kitchen could be a number of things...

And the bathroom...

I could go on...but you get the idea, right? I love old and rustic, and I love some glam!

Now, do I think we will find all of this in a home? Probably not. But I'm dreaming big. I definitely think we can find a home that over time, can become exactly our dream home. Really, more than anything, I want the home that God has for us...because He has something that is just right for our family.

So, I will keep you posted on our house hunting adventures! We will also be making a couple changes around here....painting the foyer is one of them. I'm SO over the bold color, and I've been wanting to paint it something neutral for quite a while now. I know that small change will definitely help whenever we list our home for sale, too.

Hope you guys have a great week!
