Moving was way worse than I thought! We just had soooo much stuff, and a lot of it couldn't go on the moving truck, so there were many trips made back and forth with things in our cars. To make it even more complicated, lots of items were going into storage, and some were coming here. Honestly, I think when we move to the next place, I'm going to be unpacking things that I don't even remember I own, because they've been packed away for so long!
Oh yes, and how can I forget that we all got terribly sick the day before we moved. It was just a really bad cold, but it made moving feel so much more difficult! I'm actually not completely better yet...this cold just won't go away!
The good thing is, we aren't in any kind of rush to get this house in order, so I'm just taking it easy. It's really refreshing not to have any pressure anymore! At our previous home, I felt like we were constantly packing and getting things ready for the move, so this is a nice change.
Here are a few pictures from the past couple of weeks. Some, you may have already seen on Instagram, but some are new.
This is the morning we moved! You can't tell, but we are all miserably sick! Audrey was in her jammies most of the day! I think I would have been more emotional about leaving our first home, but I just didn't feel good, and we were so busy that it was hard to think about anything else.
This is what our kitchen looked like shortly after the movers had left. Quite the disaster! Thankfully, my amazing sister-in-law, Christiane had most of it unpacked and organized later that same day!
Audrey wanted to help with boxes too! Don't worry, this one was empty!
Audrey and lola getting comfy at the new place!
Our house seems to be going up really quickly! This is the latest picture I have of it, but there's been even more progress since!
Well, I think that's about it for now! We're just getting used to the new area and trying to get settled here. I'm actually not unpacking too much, since we'll only be here for a few months, but I do want to be comfortable at the same time. Hopefully within the next week or two, I can take some pictures of each room and give you a tour!
